For me the end of the year brings holidays and a chance to reflect on life. Even though I feel like 2010 has been my most spiritually and emotionally expansive year to date, it has occurred to me that lately I’ve been doing more work and less play. My life is starting to resemble that old saying, “All work and no play…”. So I’ve decided to make 2011 my best year (so far)! Somebody call Oprah because I’ve got big plans and I’ll be using my angel network. Here’s a list of some of the things I’m planning to accomplish in 2011. I’m ready. You ready? Leggo-
1. Flying trapeze
I know it sounds crazy, but ever since I saw Pink do it on the VMA’s I knew I had to try it.
2. Work on getting my pilot’s license
I absolutely love to fly. The new security screening at the airport can’t even diminish my love for flying. How bawse would it be to just get in your airplane with your loved one and have dinner anywhere in the world. Sounds like the life for me, but I should probably learn how to fly first. Ha!
There are so many causes that I feel passionate about and it’s about time I put my time and money where my heart is.
Well, you guys have seen my list, what about yours? What will you do to make 2011 your best year (so far)?

“I never thought I’d say this, until I lived in L.A., but the most grounded, egoless, rational, and down-to-earth people are the ones born and raised there…The dicks are the ones who come from New Jersey and Tacoma and everywhere else to be a star.” – David Cross excerpt from NY Mag
To set off our new Eye Candy section of the blog, we are celebrating the super studs of the silver screen. I’m gonna just shut up and let you enjoy this afternoon delight.

I can be quite the geek when it comes to movies. Well, today my inner geek was in for a big treat. I saw the new trailer for the Tron Legacy film that was premiered at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. If you haven’t seen it yet, you’re welcome.
And the best part is….wait for it……Daft Punk is doing the soundtrack! AAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!! Anyone who knows me knows that I am OBSESSED with Daft Punk. Not a normal level of obsession, but a 12-year-old-girl-crazy-about-Twilight, Gaga-imitating-with-diet-coke-cans-in-your-hair, dressing-up-like-Harry-Potter-and-it-isn’t-Halloween level. Six tracks from the soundtrack were previewed today, take a listen.
Daft Punk – Tron Legacy Soundtrack
Too bad we have to wait ’til almost Xmas for Tron Legacy, but I have a feeling that it’ll be well worth the wait.
Hi everybody, sorry for the lack of posts. I’ve been extremely busy with new projects. These projects will add a brand new aspect to Arant Savant. Let’s just say that you will be hearing and seeing a lot more from us in the next coming months. I couldn’t be any more excited and cannot wait to bring it to you.
As we move on to the next phase of life, we must first say goodbye to the pieces that got us here. On Saturday, July 24th, Arant Savant will be having a blowout End of Summer sale- 40% off of our Spring/Summer ’10 collection. This is a ONE DAY SALE. Get ’em while you can because we have extremely limited quantities and when they’re gone, they’re gone.

Sorry for the delay, work has been crazy lately. I’m not sure if it’s because I love the warm weather or because I so desperately need a vacation, but I can’t stop thinking about having fun in the sun. Lacey tops, tees, cut offs, espadrilles, flowers in bloom and bloomers are constantly dancing in my head. Here’s some daydream material until you get your fun in the sun.
Someone cue up Jeezy because “I need a vacation”.

I could go on for days about how Rick Owens inspires me, but instead I’ll just show you some pics.
Yeah. He’s the man.

Kate and Laura Mulleavy have been a huge inspiration to me since the birth of their line Rodarte five years ago. In my opinion, you can’t really be a lover of fashion without loving Rodarte. Born and raised in Pasadena, the Mulleavy sisters’ technique of making beautiful things look ruined has become their signature. Through layering, mixing materials and extravagant knit work, Rodarte has become one of the most creative, beloved brands of the 21st century.
From Febuary 11 to March 14, the Quicktake: Rodarte exhibit took place in NYC @ the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum. The exhibit featured past and present pieces in an architectural setting that highlighted the Rodarte design aesthetic.
Of course being that I live in L.A., I always find out about these cool New York events way late. Thank goodness Cooper-Hewitt has a great design blog with a video of the creation of the exhibit and an interview with Kate and Laura. Hope you enjoy.
I went to see Alice in Wonderland last weekend and just as I expected, I loved it. Not only were the special effects incredible, but the costumes were absolutely drool worthy. There has been quite a showing of ‘Alice’ inspired garments and accessories in the fashion world lately and I’m sure we are going to be seeing a lot more.
Isn’t this the cutest waistcoat? It’s made by a company called toki & nabi out of London.
I’ll take one of each and a one-way ticket to Wonderland.

Hope you have a fun, safe and sane one!

I was watching the new Lonely Island video “Boombox” feat. Julian Casablancas and it got me thinking about how much he has influenced the world with his style. Now Julian hasn’t done it all on his own, when he was a member of The Strokes, they created quite a ruckus in everyday streetwear style. I don’t know about you, but the first time I saw The Strokes I thought to myself, the days of the Velvet Underground- punk dude are back and I love it. I was also thinking that their pants were so tight, I could see their heartbeats (not a bad thing).
Even though each member had their own look, it is Julian’s style that has always inspired me. It could be his perfectly worn leather jackets, his washed out tees, his untamed locks or his gorgeous puppy dog eyes. To me, he represents the ultimate, anti-glam rockstar.
Did I mention he’s hot as hell and talented!
Being that it feels like summer in L.A. today, I’m in the mood for a good summer anthem. Hope you enjoy!
S/S ’10 Volume III collection represents the balance between soft as a feather and tough as nails within a woman’s personality. The “Inspiration” piece is paying homage to a woman who has made a tremendous impact on my style sensibilities. Dearest Kate, I salute you.
The “Unstoppable” piece is a visual representation of the strength of the female spirit.
” A woman with a voice is by definition a strong woman” – Melinda Gates
Both styles are available now at the Arant Savant online shop.
With the weather starting to heat up, it’s got me thinking about summertime and all the fun that I used to have as a kid. In my tweens, summer consisted of practically living at my friends house and hanging out at her pool, hanging out at the mall, staying up all night talking to boys on the phone (sorry mom) and going to whatever house party was poppin’ that night. To me, to this day, a summertime house party isn’t complete without Dr. Dre’s Chronic albums 1 & 2.
Enjoy the weekend everybody!
Well, here I am. I tried my hardest to fight the urge to blog, but to no avail. So, some of you may know me, some may not. My name is Jazz and Arant Savant is my brain child. It is a brand that celebrates the everyday life of extra-ordinary women. Arant Savant is “the light in the dark” of drab, predictable fashion.
Through this blog I hope you learn more about Arant Savant and love it as much as I do, learn about my sources of inspiration and maybe laugh at my random thoughts (“mmm, food” or “ooh, quantum physics” lol). Here we go…..
